Magazine Front Cover

This is the front cover of my Sound IQ magazine. The main image is of my brother Ken Iredia who is taking on the role of a mainstream rapper who talks about his life and his new album "Chronic". The issue is a special on the Iredia family who are supposed to be a legendary family of entertainment. My inspiration for using the Iredia's as a legendary family was on such legendary families as the Jackson's, the Osmond's and  the Baldwin's.
There is a pug where it says "Win Tinie-Tempah tickets" Tinie Tempah's tour is starting this month on saturday the 19th according to http://www.allgigs.co.uk/search/tourdates/61506/Tinie_Tempah-1.html, and Tinie Tempah is one of the biggest artist in the UK so this is a very eye-catching pug. The bar code is on the bottom-left hand corner, just above the pug that says "Free inside, Guide to the life style of out favourite stars: Including J.T Spencer.
The Main puff is the main headline which is the exclusive of Ken Iredia, my main image. There is also a headline of Jen Iredia who is on my double page spread.

Improved crop of picture

This is the improved version of my croped picture on paint.net. The first had many faults as the picture was cropped to close to the person on the image and it looked like chunks of her had been bitten off. This version is cropped better and her full body shows on the image. I saved it on the PNG file and inserted this to my blog.

Organisation of Pictures on draft

I had in total, 12 different pictures that I took for my draft magazine. I chose eight of them and used them on my front cover, my contents page and my double page spread. I came to the idea of using certain pictures for certain parts of the magazine because of the positions that I planned to put them in.

I also decided where I would put the pictures depending on how they would fit into the magazine and the headlines next to them.

For the main image I went with a colour scheme because of the colour of the mast head. I decided to use a picture of my brother with his blue hood because the original masthead was blue as well.

I cropped the rest of the pictures on the front cover to a much smaller size than they were orignally so as to not distract the attention of the main image.

There is a need for vast improvements on the contents page as there are no cropped pictures and they don't fit the headlines. On the improved version of my contents page I will space them out differently and use more suitable font on the headlines.

On the Double page spread of the magazine The image above the writing is of my sister in early autumn scenery. I picked that because it showed her in a model-like pose, which relates to the headline which talks about her being a model.

I croped the images on paint and then copied and pasted them to word. I inserted text boxes into the main image and one of the images on the Double page spread on word.

This is a Paint. net adaptation of one of my photos for my magazine drafts. I went on Paint.net and then i deleted all of the surrounding area around my sister and then zoomed in to to delete areas in finer detail. I then saved this into the png files and then inserted the image into my blog.

Software Choices for Coursework

For my Front Cover, Contents Page and Double Page Spread drafts I decided to use Microsoft word to paste the main image in. I then inserted text boxes into the main image at various positions of the main image and entered in headlines that would fit a music magazine and to inset in original pictures from my camera into the main image, also at various points of the magazine.
When I was finished with the mcirosoft word usage, I then Print Screened the image into Paint. I croped around the main image and then copied and pasted it into a different page of Paint. I saved the image into the JPEG files and then inserted the image into my blog and analysed the magazine front cover, contents page and double page spread drafts.
This is one of my photos for my double page spread on paint.net. From here i can make changes like adding effects and adjusting it.

This shows my main image and I have added a text box to it. The arrow shows where to add the text box and also there is a text box that I drew on there to show what it would look like.
